Properties that earn their keep
Every unused property slows analysis. Here is how we prune and protect the ones that still matter.
Application analytics collections grow quietly. A property added for one experiment stays forever, and six months later nobody remembers why "flag_v2" exists.
We keep a quarterly prune: any property unused in the last 90 days of reporting moves to an archive list. Critical identity and plan fields stay protected with owners named in the dictionary.
When a new feature ships, we ask which decision the property will support in the next two review cycles. If the answer is vague, the property does not ship.
Cleaner schemas make funnel studies faster and make retention clinics less about archaeology.
